The Moose Jaw Novice Mustangs 2 hit the road over the weekend and brought back some hardware with them.

Moose Jaw captured bronze at the "LAX to the Max" Tournament in Medicine Hat over the weekend, posting a 3-1 record over their four games.

The Mustangs scored a narrow 3-2 win over the Swift Current Rampage MW in the bronze medal game on Sunday. Luke Harder, Kashton Smith and Rhyen Ubell scored in the win for the Mustangs.

The tournament opened for Moose Jaw with a 9-5 win over the Calgary Axemen. Smith had a hat trick and four points in the win, while Cooper Fulton picked up two goals and three points. Ubell, Harder, Kysen Mac Angus and Slade Tremblay also scored in the win.

Moose Jaw would lose 11-6 to the Medicine Hat Sun Devils in their second game on Saturday. Harder and Fulton had two goals each, while Smith picked up a goal and two points and Mac Angus also scored in the loss.

The Mustangs would bounce back with a 13-3 win over the Strathmore Venom on Saturday. Ubell had a hat trick and four points, Fulton scored three times, Smith had two goals and four points, while Harder, Mac Angus, Kaden Flanagan, Paisley Butler and Griffen Hender also scored for Moose Jaw.

The Mustangs returned to league play on Monday with a 4-2 win over the Weyburn Thrashers. They take on the Novice Mustangs 1 in an all-Moose Jaw showdown on Wednesday at the Kinsmen Arena.
