Former Moose Jaw resident, Kane Fritzler is going to take a crack at reality television and will be trying to win $1 million, as he made the cast of the upcoming season of Survivor.

Fritzler will travel to the beautiful islands of Fiji, and join his fellow cast members to form a society that adapts to the physical and social surroundings that the show has in store for them.

The 25-year-old recently graduated from law school at the University of Saskatchewan. Fritzler will face off against people with very diverse backgrounds that include a teacher, a NASA engineer, and a firefighter to name a few.

CBS released a promotional video of each contestant on the show and Fritzler said that his experience with law school has helped shape him into who he is today.

“It taught me to become the negotiator that I am, and taught me to become confident in myself,” said Fritzler in his CBS promotional video. “I’m a big goofy guy and move around like a Sasquatch so I don’t think a lot of people know that I’m a high achieving student.”

He went on to say that his attitude will hopefully take him a long way in Survivor 44.

“I think I’m going to be on a good vibe tribe because the vibe follows me around.”

The reasoning behind Fritzler’s decision to take a stab at the hit tv series was to grow as a person and not for the $1 million grand prize as he has many ways to do that.

“I came here to be the sole survivor and play this game hard. I don’t think I will ever have Jeff [Probst] tell me to dig deep, as I will be digging deep.”

In this year’s season, the contestants will be divided into three tribes of six and will endure the fastest and most dangerous season as soon as they step on the beach.

Season 44 of the hit tv show will premiere on the CBS Television Network on March 1, with a two-hour premiere from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. CST.
