"A pair of eyes, a pair of hands, a pair of feet can make the difference for someone."

That's the message coming from Tami McNevin on behalf of the Moose Jaw Search and Rescue. McNevin is the Team Lead, Adventure Smart Coordinator and Basic Searcher and is sharing why being a part of this non-profit group can help to change someone's life.

Currently the group is looking for members to join as every single person helps when they're called out to assist in an investigation. It's a chance to meet new people with a common interest. McNevin said the task of looking for someone or something isn't always easy, but it's always worth it.

"The time we spend in training, the time we spend out on a search, the stress involved, the possibilities that are involved....if your team - and it's all within a team - no one person works alone. It is absolutely worth every minute," McNevin detailed. "That being said you're out there and you're helping to find someone or to find something in an investigation. There's an expectation of privacy. They end up with the best possible outcome if you don't find something on a particular search, the search was still successful in that you cleared a particular area."

Those who may be interested in applying are invited to an information session being held by the Moose Jaw Search and Rescue, which will also count as a prerequisite on an application. The information session is this upcoming Sunday at the South Hill Fire Hall at 1pm.

Other than the information session, interested parties will only need to pass a criminal record check throughout the application process. The successful candidates will be provided with all necessary training according to McNevin.
