It took 20 holes on Canada Day to decide a winner at the Harbor Golf Club in Elbow.

Moose Jaw's Lorie Boyle came up just short of her eighth provincial championship over the weekend at the 55th annual Saskatchewan Senior Women's Golf Championship. She lost in a playoff to Lloydminster's Jo-Anne Schiller, who captured her second straight provincial title.

Boyle and Schiller entered Sunday tied for the lead and they went back-and-forth throughout the final round on a windy day on Lake Diefenbaker.

Both golfers were five-over on the front-nine, but Boyle had a triple bogey on the par-four 10th to fall behind by two shots.

She gained one back when Schiller posted a double bogey on the par-five 13th, but Schiller moved back in front by two with a birdie on the par-three 15th.

Boyle didn't go away however, as she gained two shots on the very next hole with a birdie of her own on the par-four 16th, while Schiller settled for a bogey to fall back into a tie.

Both golfers finished with a bogey on 17 and par on 18 to head into playoff, which Schiller ended up winning on the second hole.

Boyle and Schiller will now be representing Saskatchewan at nationals at the end of August in Fonthill, Ont.
