Coming off their first loss of the season on Tuesday, Moose Jaw's Jeremy Bisson, Jaxsen Wiebe, and the Nipawin Hawks rebounded on Wednesday.

The Hawks improved to 6-1-0-0 this season thanks to a 2-1 shootout win over the Battlefords North Stars in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Bisson assisted on former Moose Jaw Generals forward Austen Flaman's opening goal, which came with just four seconds remaining in the first period. Bisson now has a goal and three points in eight games this season with the Hawks.

The North Stars tied the game up in the final minute of the second period and neither side could find the go-ahead goal in the third or overtime, sending the game into a shootout.

Eric Sorensen scored the only goal of the shootout for Nipawin, while goalie Patrick Pugliese turned away all three North Stars' shooters. Pugliese made 38 saves in total in the win.

Wiebe was held off the scoresheet in the win.

The Hawks and North Stars will play a rematch on Friday night in Nipawin.

In other action on Wednesday, the Notre Dame Hounds skated to a 5-2 win over the Estevan Bruins at the Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox.
