The Moose Jaw Miller Express lost their second straight game on Wednesday night as they went into Swift Current and fell 8-7 to the 57s.

A five-run fourth inning ended up being the difference as the 57s turned a 6-3 deficit into an 8-6 lead and never looked back.

The Millers are now 4-3 this season in the Western Canadian Baseball League.

Darrell Doll hit his first home-run of the season in the first inning, a two-run shot that made it 2-1 for Moose Jaw after one.

After Swift Current moved in front 3-2 after three with one run in the second and third innings each, the Millers retook the lead in the fourth with a four-run inning.

Geordie McDougall smacked his second home run of the season. Tucker Zdunich and Dougie DelaCruz followed that up with back-to-back singles and Zdunich scoring on an error to make it 4-3 for Moose Jaw.

Markus Melendez and Eric Marriott would add to the advantage with run-scoring singles as the Millers moved in front 6-3.

The 57s had a big response though with Colby Seltzer and Tanner Holen each hitting a two-run home run to take the lead for good.

The Millers cut the lead to one in the sixth when Melendez reached on an error, stole two bases and scored.

Michael Ross threw four scoreless innings with seven strikeouts to keep the Millers in the game, however, Moose Jaw could only move one more runner into scoring position over the final three innings and they took a 3-0 loss.

Blake Gallagher started for the Millers, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out two.

Alex Orenczuk took the loss for Moose Jaw after surrendering five runs on five hits in the fourth inning. He had one strikeout.

Doll was 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored, while Marriott was 3-for-5 with an RBI out of the lead-off spot. DelaCruz finished 3-for-4 with a run scored as well.

The Millers will look to bounce back on Thursday night when they travel to Yorkton to take on the Cardinals. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
