Saskatchewan residents who wish to hunt elk, moose, and pronghorn or mule deer within the province can apply for the annual Big Game Draw, which opens on May 1.

The application process must be done online via the Saskatchewan Hunting, Angling and Trapping License (HAL) system. The deadline for submissions is 4:00 p.m. on May 30, applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Hunters can us the online residence verification tool to have early access to their HAL accounts and ensure a seamless application process.

It is recommended that before applications are submitted that aspiring hunters review the 2024 Big Game Draw Supplement for detailed information and quotas for species within the draw.

The results of the draw will become available through HAL accounts beginning in June, with the exception of pronghorn, which will be available in mid-July. 

Candidates for the Big Game Draw will receive an email informing them of their draw results. It is advised that hunters take steps to verify their results online.
