Holy Trinity Catholic School Division (HTCSD) announced several budget amendments at its March 20th board meeting.

$3,000 was received from the Premier’s Board of Education Award for Innovation and Excellence in Education for the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Inclusion Centre project.

Director of Education Ward Strueby explained how the money will be used.

"With that grant, we're looking at working with a local Elder as well as our Knowledge Keeper, to plant some Indigenous plants in our community garden at our board office and in turn, we'll be working with students and staff to harvest those and we'll use those plants for when we are doing our smudges at our schools."

Another budget amendment will see $23,500 allocated to support the second year of the Parent Teacher Home Visits Initiative.

Additionally, $75,000 was allocated for the implementation of a Program Designer position at the Family Early Resource Program in Swift Current to assist with developing early childhood development strategies.
