Remember when your mom and dad told you if you have a roof over your head and food on the table, you're doing well?

That old saying still rings true.

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives has released a report with some alarming statistics.

They conclude "low minimum wages and a lack of affordable housing" has made rent unaffordable for many.

The CCPA found, in Saskatchewan, a single income, full-time employee needs to make about $22.00 an hour to "rent comfortably".  The minimum wage in Saskatchewan is currently $11.06 an hour - and that's the lowest in Canada.

And, we wonder why so many people are walking our back alleys and going through our recycling and trash cans.  My guess is some of them are just trying to survive.
