The trend of decreasing lab test-positivity rates for COVID-19 in Saskatchewan continued in Thursday's update from the province. And the number of people in hospital with the disease dropped.

The update stated that the test-positivity rate fell from 5.3 per cent last week to 4.6 per cent. Three months ago it was above 13 per cent.

The province reported a 45-person drop in hospitalizations, week-over-week. There were 187 people in hospital with COVID-19 as of June 8, compared to 232 on June 1. Twelve of those exits were for COVID-19-related illnesses. Thirty-three were incidental hospitalizations.

There was an increase in the number of adults with COVID-19 in ICU, as that number rose from six to 10. And the number of news deaths in the latest week of data rose from eight to nine.

The number of new lab-confirmed cases fell from 364 to 285.
