Just one week remains for you to get your name on the ballot in the upcoming civic election here in Moose Jaw.  So far Glenn Hagel, Stan Koch, Ernie Penny and Karen Andersen Tyres have all put there names in the hat for the mayor's job, we have ten candidates for city council.

Every candidate trying to get the edge on one another with campaigning underway.  City Clerk Myron Gulka-Tiechko says there are some limitation to what candidates can do when it comes to things like campaign signs, "You cannot post election materials within 100 metres of a building in which a polling station is going to take place."

Gulka-Tiechko runs down some other rules for campaign signs, "Political candidates can only put signs once every 100 metres on city owned land or right of ways.  In addition there is a regulation that precludes people from putting signs on street medians, so for example up and down Main Street, where you have a median, we can't have signs erected on the median that divides the street's traffic flow."

Gulka-Tiechko adds that campaign signs and posters must have the name and address of the person that authorized it.
