The Moose Jaw Generals are sitting at 1-1 after two games at the 2015 Mac’s Midget AAA Tournament in Calgary.

After winning 4-2 over the California Wave in their opener on Friday, the Generals came out on the losing end against the hometown Calgary Flames, losing 3-1 on Sunday at the Max Bell Centre.

Cole Fonstad had the lone goal of the game for the Generals, his second of the tournament, coming on the power play 7:05 into the the third.

Moose Jaw trailed 2-0 at that point after Zach Russell had put the Flames in front by two just minutes earlier.  Markus Boguslavsky scored midway through the first period to open the scoring for Calgary.

The Generals kept the game within one until Jared Wilson scored for Calgary with 34 seconds remaining in the game.

Colby Entz made 19 saves in the loss for the Generals.

They have Monday off from game action before facing the SSAC Athletics out of Edmonton on Tuesday at 12:45pm.  The Generals finish the round robin on Wednesday when they take on the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs.

Warriors’ sixth overall pick Luka Burzan, Ben Evanish and the Valley West Hawks are unbeaten at the tournament so far, they tied the Calgary Northstars, 3-3, on Sunday and then topped the Belarus U17 National team, 5-3, on Monday.

Burzan scored a pair of goals in Sunday’s 3-3 tie against Calgary, but was held off the scoresheet in the win over Belarus.  Evanish, a listed player by the Warriors, scored in Monday’s win against Belarus.

The Hawks return to the ice against the Prince Albert Mintos on Tuesday at 6:15pm.
