Three goals in the third period helped keep the Moose Jaw Generals in the win column on Thursday night in Saskatoon.

The Generals skated to a 4-3 win over the Saskatoon Contacts for their fourth straight win in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

Cole Fonstad scored twice to lead the Generals to the win, while Chantz Petruic and Jarid Morhart added goals in the third period to help with the comeback.

Fonstad and Saskatoon's Eli Lieffers traded goals in the first period to send the game into the break tied at 1-1.

The Contacts took the lead with Carson Albrecht scoring early in the second period and the score would stay that way heading into the third.

The Generals went to work early in the third period with Fonstad tying the game 4:50 into the final frame. Petruic would put Moose Jaw ahead just 32 seconds later.

They continued to ride that momentum for the rest of the period with Morhart scoring his first of the season with 4:44 to go in the game. The Contacts pulled within one when Albrecht scored with 19 seconds left.

Hunter Arps made 29 saves to lead the Generals to the win, while Moose Jaw was able to score four goals on just 22 shots.

Moose Jaw is now tied for first place in the SMAAAHL with Yorkton at 7-1-0-1 on the year. They're back on the ice this weekend as they head to Prince Albert on Saturday and Beardy's on Sunday.
