The Hillcrest hosted their 3rd annual Women Fore Women golf tournament on Saturday and it was a huge success once again.

The tournament was completely sold out with 100 female golfers who participated.

All of the proceeds from the tournament are going towards the Hillcrest Gofl Club's scholarship fund to assist young women with their post-secondary education and sports ambitions.

"Everything went extremely well... We've raised over $13,000 for our scholarships for next year so we're very happy about that," says Bev Barber, Chair of the tournament.

"The tournament is really well accepted and the women really seem to appreciate us having a tournament like that in Moose Jaw."

Earlier this year in June the tournament was able to help provide three $2,000 scholarships to a few local young women.

Barber was unable to confirm whether they will be offering more than three scholarships next year but she said she believes that with the amount of money that was raised, they will be able to do bigger and better things.

The committee of the tournament will meet in September to finalize the scholarships.

Barber also wants to thank the ladies at the Hillcrest as well as the local businesses who sponsored the event.

"(The ladies) work really, really, hard and they're just a wonderful group of ladies to work with and they do a fantastic job of putting this tournament on," says Barber. "The Businesses of Moose Jaw are just fabulous. It amazes me every year. I've been the Chair person all three years and it just amazes me the donations that we get and the support we get from the community of Moose Jaw. It's very heart warming and they deserve a big thanks for supporting the tournament."
