Members of the Moose Jaw Fire Department were on the scene of a brush fire Saturday afternoon on the far west end of the city.

The call came in just after 4 pm and it took 10 firefighters and 2 trucks to put out the fire, which wasn't extinguished until almost 7 pm.

According to the fire department, wind and especially dry conditions caused the large fire to spread easily, which almost reached the Moose Jaw R/C Aircraft Club building.

Duty Officer, Rod Stapleton.

"It was quite the extensive grass fire. The model airplane building down there, it almost came within 3 feet of those buildings. The guys made a good stop."

The Moose Jaw Police Service released a statement on Sunday saying a motorbike was found at the scene of the fire, severely damaged. They ask anyone with information or knowledge regarding the incident to contact them.
