The Saskatchewan Coroners Service recently released its latest numbers when it comes to drug-related deaths as of Nov. 3, 2023. 

According to the report, there have been six confirmed drug overdose deaths in Moose Jaw so far this year, five of which included Fentanyl. 

This compares to 10 confirmed deaths in 2022, three in 2021 and seven in 2020. 

Provincially, there were 202 confirmed drug-related deaths in 2023 with 191 accidental, three suicides and two that are undetermined. Of the 202 deaths, 138 involved Fentanyl. Other opioids that were involved included codeine, hydromorphone, methadone, morphine and oxycodone. 

There are currently 192 suspected drug-related deaths that are still under investigation.
