The Briercrest Clippers’ women’s volleyball team continues to be a dominating force in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference’s South Division.

The Clippers swept their weekend set of games against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, winning in three straight sets on Friday and in four sets on Saturday, out in Caronport.

Friday’s game saw the Clippers take the first set, 25-23, and then they picked up a pair 25-21 wins to finish the game off without dropping a set.

On Saturday, the Clippers won the opening set, 25-19, but then the Rattlers battled back with a 26-24 win in the second set. Briercrest took the next two sets, 25-15 and 25-22, to walk away with another match win.

The Clippers lead the South Division with a 17-1 record. They’ve lost just 12 sets in 18 matches this season.

The Briercrest men’s volleyball team didn’t fare as well as they lost in four sets to the Rattlers on Friday and then dropped a straight set game on Saturday. The Clippers are 11-7 on the year.

Both the men and women will be back on the court in Calgary this weekend to take on the Ambrose University College Lions.

In Clippers’ basketball action on the weekend, the women picked up a 73-67 win over the Ambrose Lions on Friday and then lost 69-58 on Saturday. The men lost 74-56 on Friday and 87-69 on Saturday.

The Clippers’ men’s hockey team headed to Camrose for games against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings on Friday and Saturday. The Clippers lost 6-0 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday.
