Indoor fall recreation programming has started in Moose Jaw, and residents are invited to get involved.

The City of Moose Jaw’s Recreation Services Manager, Scott Osmachenko, shared more on the programs.

“Some of our number one programs are swimming lessons, everyone’s interested in those. As well, we started our full gamut of indoor skating, so shinny, sticks and pucks, public skating. And then one that’s still ongoing is our Community Programs, (which) range from anything badminton, volleyball, upholstery classes, cake decorating...”

Locals can even purchase a Rec Pass, which grants them access to many of the city’s recreational centres.

“The Rec Pass is an all-encompassing pass that lets you go swimming at the (Kinsmen) Sportsplex all year long. It also includes the outdoor pool, access to the Yara Centre; fitness and track. And it also does include all of the skating programs as well, so there are so many opportunities,” added Osmachenko.

“We have added a few more things at the Yara Centre too, like all of our fitness classes. We have yard games going on, indoor golf, and we’re looking into lawn bowling as well.”

The city has seen a great response from residents so far, with the pickleball and swimming programs both full.

A new recreation guide will also be released in the first week of December, which will follow the city’s recreation programming plan for January to May 2023.
