There was a pile of twisted steel on the east side of Moose Jaw Saturday night after a two vehicle collision.

Local emergency crews rushed to the scene after a car and a semi collided at the intersection of the TransCanada and Caribou Street East. The semi was traveling south from the landfill road when an eastbound car crashed into the side of the truck.

Two people were rescued with the jaws of life and were sent to hospital with serious injuries but non-life threatening. The highway was closed for about five hours as the clean up and investigation took place.

The semi driver has been charged with disobeying a yield sign.
