We're down to four teams in the Moose Jaw High School Football League with the semifinals on the field this Saturday in Moose Jaw and Yorkton.

The Central Cyclones will host the Swift Current Colts at Gutheridge Field, while the Peacock Tornadoes travel to Yorkton to square off with the defending champion Raiders.

The Cyclones are coming off a hard-fought 2-0 win over the Vanier Vikings in the quarterfinals last week.

Safety Crozier Holmes, who will be returning from injury for the game, said the team's focus will be the biggest key for the Cyclones.

"We've got lots of talent, but if we don’t stay focused, things can go wrong real fast, so if we just stay with our game plan, things will go all right," said Holmes, who has missed most of the season with a broken hand.

The Cyclones senior added that he's feeling good and excited to be back for a big playoff game.

"This is what I've been looking forward to for the past couple of months and I'm psyched to just be back on the field," said Holmes. "There's been a lot of waiting and lately, it's just been re-activating my hand and now I'm starting to feel pretty confident in it."

Central topped the Colts, 37-10, during their regular season meeting, but Swift Current enters Saturday's semifinal off a big 69-22 win over the Estevan Elecs last week.

Holmes said Central is prepared for whatever the Colts will throw at them, "We're looking pretty good, we’re improving every day, keep repping things and getting better, so we’re confident in the spot we're in," he said.

The Tornadoes are heavy underdogs as they head to Yorkton to face the top-ranked Raiders, who received a bye into the semifinals after finishing 6-0 during the regular season.

Peacock enters the game with some injuries in key spots, but offensive lineman Dalton Taylor said they're ready to lay everything on the line against the defending champs.

"They beat us in the regular season by 61 points, we couldn't even score on them, so everyone here is amped up, we've got something to prove," said Taylor.

The Raiders put together one of the most dominating seasons in recent memory, scoring 344 points and allowing just 37 in six regular season games. They're the heavy favourites to repeat as champions, but Taylor said that has given Peacock extra motivation to attempt to knock them off.

"We just want to pull off the upset and we don't want Yorkton to write us off, we're a physical team and we want to prove it," said Taylor. "Yorkton is probably the most physical team in the league, they've won every game this year, so physicality is going to be big."

The Tornadoes and Raiders kick-off at 2 p.m. in Yorkton. Here in Moose Jaw, the Cyclones and Colts hit the field at 1 p.m. at Gutheridge Field.
