Carnie's Comments

It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good old days.

If you'd have told me back in the 80s that we'd still be going to Trooper and Streetheart concerts in 2024, I'd have bet against that. Here we are.

Trooper will play the West Central Events Centre in Kindersley on Saturday, April 27th with The Northern Pikes.

Streetheart will take to the stage a week from Saturday at Assiniboia's Southland Co-op Centre.

Now, both bands have seen some changes over the years. Trooper's longtime frontman Ra McGuire retired so, talented singer David Steele has stepped up.

Streetheart's Kenny Shields, of course, passed away in 2017. Their new lead singer is Paul McNair.

The boys in those bands decided the show must go on. Aren't we lucky?

Like the Trooper song goes, "One for the money, two for the show."

And, just like Kenny used to sing it, "Forever and ever and a day."
