Carnie's Comments

It's Throwback Thursday as we take a look back during this, CHAB Radio's 100th anniversary.

We've had some memorable visits from remarkable people over the years, from high profile athletes and politicians to superstars from the music industry.

One visit I'll never forget was a brush with fame before she was famous.

It was 1994 or '95, after we switched formats and became Country 800.  A young, up-and-coming Canadian country singer was touring the country and stopping into every country music radio station she could find.

When she came into our station you could feel her energy.  Her smile and charisma lit the place up.

She did a quick interview with one of our disc jockeys and posed for some photos and left us a VHS tape, urging us to have a look and a listen.

We plugged it into the VCR, watched and listened.

It was a video of her new single entitled, "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under".

After the viewing, as I recall, one of our DJs predicted she was going to be a superstar.  He was right

That was the one and only time Shania Twain visited our radio station.

I wonder if she remembers that day.
