Carnie's Comments

It was the best thing I read all weekend.

It's a social media post that goes like this:"We have always known who essential service people are - health care workers from doctors and nurses to pharmacists and lab techs and so many more, plus emergency services such as police and fire."

"But, had you ever really and truly realized that there is another whole layer of essential service employees that are taken for granted and sometimes belittled for their work?  Those people who work in grocery stores and pharmacies and the people who drive truck or produce food..."

"Most of those jobs are thankless, with long hours...some with not great pay and most without any one ever singing their praises.  Well, today, we need to sing!"

"ALL essential service workers deserve our respect and appreciation...to all who fall into those categories - we appreciate you and we will continue to support you...long after this situation is resolved."

That was written by Moose Jaw city councilor Heather Eby.  Thanks, councilor.  We needed that.
