There was a time not that long ago when some though it could be up to a year before we'd have COVID-19 vaccines in Saskatchewan.  So, the news is most certainly welcome.

Prime Minister Trudeau told us on Monday that the first shipment of doses will arrive next week.

Yesterday, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said our share of the vaccine is on the way and inoculation will begin this month.

The vaccine will first be delivered to "health care workers providing direct care to COVID-19 patients in ICUs, Emergency Departments and COVID Units...and staff at testing and assessment centres."

As you would expect, "immunizing priority populations" will be next, including elderly people in care homes, people over age 80 and those in remote northern communities.

The rest of us will be eligible in the second phase with "widespread vaccine access to immunize the general population" in April.

You know I'll get vaccinated.  But you know one thing that won't change?  Shaking hands.  I've never liked it.  Some are offended by that.  Some of my friends and family call me a "germophobe".  That's not going to change.
