If you're a hockey fan, you probably saw it on the weekend.  I was watching the game on Friday night when it happened.  It turned my stomach a little.

Superstar Sidney Crosby, one of our best, took two consecutive cross-checks, from behind, from an old nemesis.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky took his stick and cross-checked Crosby in the back of the neck.  Crosby crumbled in pain. Dubinsky then got him again, with another cross-check, breaking his stick across Crosby's back.  Dubinsky skated to the penalty box.  He got 2 minutes.  Upon further review the NHL then suspended Dubinsky for one game.  One game.  That's it.

I agree with those who believe we need to get rid of the "instigator" penalty for those who start fights.  It was implemented to reduce fighting and I get that BUT, it also deters players from protecting their teammates.  If a player jumps in and attacks the man who attacked the star player, he gets an minor penalty for instigating the fight, 5 minutes for fighting AND a 10 minute misconduct.  It's just not right.

Somehow, we've lost control of our game.  I wonder if we can get it back?
