Team Canada dropped their final game of pre-tournament action at the 2019 World Junior Championship in British Columbia.

Sunday night saw four teams hit the ice for games in Vancouver and Burnaby to close out the pre-tournament schedule before the official start of the World Junior tournament on Boxing Day.

Team Canada, which includes Moose Jaw Warrior's captain Josh Brook and head coach Tim Hunter, went into the third game with a boost of confidence after winning their last two, but it wasn't enough to fight off Team Finland.

Both Canada and Finland scored a goal in the first, but our team's fate was sealed in the second period, as Finland collected two more points and worked together to hold off Team Canada, who wasn't able to get any pucks in the net.

It seemed like things might be going in Canada's favour after a quick penalty at the beginning of the third period, followed by a delay of game, giving us the advantage. Barrett Hayton scored on the power play for Team Canada and brought the score up to 4-2 for Finland, but two more penalties came our way as we progressed through the final period.

The game came to a close with Finland's Santeri Virtanen scoring an empty-net goal with one second left in the game, making a final of 5-2 for Finland.

Team Canada will now take a break for two nights as they get set to take on Denmark when the tournament opens on Boxing Day. The puck drops at 7 o'clock in Vancouver.
