After being treated to a warm start to the new year, Mother Nature is about to unleash on Saskatchewan. All of southern Saskatchewan is under a blowing snow warning with the exception of the Cypress Hills district.

A cold front is moving through that will create winds in the 50 km per hour range that will kick up the fresh snow. Officials say that combination will severely reduce visibility in some areas late Monday morning. Travel is expected to be hazardous and drivers are being reminded to prepare accordingly. You can find the latest conditions on the Road Report.

Conditions should start to improve Monday evening on the west side of the province and then move to the east overnight. Behind the system is a pocket of cold air that will hit overnight, making it feel like -30 at times with warmer air returning by Thursday.
