Big Brothers, Big Sisters has been building relationships between mentors and mentees in the area for 50 years.

These developmental relationships add to social competence, mental health and well-being, not only for the "littles", but for the "bigs" as well.

Mental health has been a very important topic of discussion throughout the pandemic, and these relationships can serve as an outlet for kids in the community who want to talk or just have some fun.

The organization has an extensive process in place to ensure the right matches are paired together. Families of the mentee are also heavily involved in the process.

Activities can range from sledding or going for a walk to sporting events or even playing video games, along with events hosted by the group for all to enjoy. Each situation is unique and tailored to the interests of the child and mentor.

Currently, the organization would need about 24 mentors to fulfill the needs on their waitlist and monetary donations are always welcome.

Discover Moose Jaw's Teagan Witko spoke with Dominika Krzeminska, Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina & Area to talk about the application process, how it all works and the benefits of the program.
