Lumsden police were dispatched early Saturday morning to a break-in at the local school.

Around 1:30 a.m. the school's security alarm was tripped, which led to responding officers locating an adult man who was known to them. Police took him in for questioning.

The man denied any involvement and was let go, but several hours later officers assigned to investigate the scene found the adult male climbing on the school roof.

It turns out that the original man they took in for questioning had broken into the school earlier and forgot his phone inside, and he subsequently returned to the building to retrieve it.

The man was taken into custody, and following a second man being arrested, both were charged with breaking and entering as well as theft.
