Two 20-year-old males are in custody following a machete attack that occurred in downtown Moose Jaw at approximately 6:10 p.m. Thursday night.

The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) and EMS responded to the incident that occurred at the corner of Main Street and High Street East, following multiple 911 calls.

Two individuals were transported to hospital with critical injuries. One of the victims was struck near the head with the machete, while the other suffered multiple stab wounds. The relationship between the parties involved is unknown.

Police were able to locate and arrest the two suspects without incident. The motivation behind the attacks remains unknown at this time.

The MJPS has learned that one of the suspects had several outstanding warrants, including Robbery, Assault, and Failure to Appear.

Both individuals will make their first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Friday.
