The province government is reporting 439 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, 391 recoveries and one new death.

Of the new cases, 7 are in the south central zone, 28 are in Regina, 124 are in Saskatoon and 62 are in the North West zone.

4,064 cases are considered active and 81 cases are active in the south central zone.

218 people have been hospitalized including 170 receiving inpatient care and 48 in ICU.

In a message sent to local doctors on Thursday and acquired by Discover Moose Jaw, physicians are being asked to try and avoid canceling surgeries even though they are running out of beds.

Some of the COVID-19 cases they are seeing are visitor-acquired as nurses are struggling with visitors not complying with restrictions in the wards. Many patients are also in isolation, which is increasing the workload on nurses.
