A 32-year-old record in the Assiniboia area was one of 11 weather records that were broken across Saskatchewan on Monday, January 29, 2024
The Assiniboia area's new heat record is 8.5°C, beating the old record of 6.0°C which was set in 1992. Records in the area date back to 1965.
Coronach also broke a 12-year-old record when the mercury topped out at 10.7°C, breaking the 2012 record of 8.8°C. Records in the Coronach area date back to 1961.

Waskesiu Lake Area New record of 9.0°C. The old record of 6.0°C was set in 2017. Records in this area have been kept since 1966.
Weyburn Area New record of 4.7°C. The old record of 4.5°C was set in 1992. Records in this area have been kept since 1953.
Moose Jaw could break a 93-year-old record today (January 30) as Environment and Climate Change Canada has forecasted a high of 11°C, the current record is 10.6°C.
A spokesperson with Environment and Climate Change Canada anticipates that many more records across the province will be broken today.
