APAS finished up its midterm meeing in Yorkton last week with a message that producers must work together on many fronts to represent themselves and lobby effectively for change.

Member RMs from around the province gathered last week to discuss APAS' progress as a representative body for producers.  They also discussed their latest concerns and opportunities for the future.  Among these were the future of biodiesel, the government's reaction to uninsurable disasters and the need for unification among producers in effectively delivering their message to government and the public.

"Our representatives took the time to come out, gain a better understanding of agricultural policy and make their voices heard at this meeting," said Ken McBridge, president of APAS.  "Our representatives certainly provided direction for better policy and they ahve outlined what APAS must work towards to benefit producers."

Yorkton mayor Phil De Vos and LIberal MP Ralph Goodale were among the guest speakers.
