Barry and Anne Wasko operate Bar 4 Bar Ranch at Eastend and recently took part in the McDonald’s Sustainable Beef Pilot Project.

The couple were among a number of producers who volunteered to be part of the pilot project that tested out the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef’s principles and criteria.

"It was a really good process for us. We felt proud to be part of the McDonald's scene and story as a market analyst, " she said. "They're our biggest domestic buyers of beef."

She notes the process was very beneficial opening their ideas to things they do great and things they could improve on.

She adds anytime you can benchmark with your peers and see what everyone else is doing across Western Canada it gives you an opportunity to just get better.
