Green is the Colour, and old Fashion was the game on Saturday at the Western Development Museum.

The museum held its second annual fashion show and the theme this year was green-hued clothing from the previous century.

Karla Rasmussen is the Education & Public Programs Coordinator for the WDM and explained more about the clothing.

"The clothing that we were wearing today is part of the Extension Collection which means it can be worn and can be handled, that sort of thing. So it's nice to get those things out and showcase them in I don't wanna say a stereotypical male museum but a lot of people associate transportation trains, cars, things like that with men so it's kind of nice to put a softer touch on it. "

Rasmussen also went into detail about how the fashion show got started.

"This is the second year that we've had the fashion show here at the WDM in Moose Jaw. We Borrowed the idea from our friends up at the WDM in Saskatoon who always hosts a fashion show as part of their pioneering event...and it was such a success that we decided that we would make it an annual event now."

When asked why she thought it was important, Rasmussen answered with this.

"I think this is important because clothing is a very personal thing. We can look at cars from the past and we can look at trains from the past and it gives you an idea what that era was but until you see those clothing pieces that people chose for themselves I think those are wonderful things to show. Those little snapshots in time just a little better and really give that personal touch to things."

The fashion shows theme next year is "Flower Power" showcasing floral patterns.
