The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation has announced that it has provided notice for the withdrawal of extracurricular activities provincewide for all of next week.

It was also announced that there will be a rotating withdrawal of noon-hour supervision on Monday by six teachers' associations.

The withdrawal of extracurricular activities means teachers will not provide voluntary services for the organization, supervision or facilitation of activities including athletics, non-curricular arts, field trips, student travel, graduation preparation, school clubs and other activities.

Noon-hour supervision will be withdrawn on Monday from the following teachers associations:

  • Holy Family Teachers' Association - All schools in Holy Family Catholic School Division
  • Holy Trinity Teachers' Association - All schools in the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division
  • North East Teachers' Association - All schools in the North East School Division
  • Prairie Spirit Teachers' Association - All schools in the Prairie Spirit School Division
  • Prince Albert and Area Teachers' Association - All schools in the Saskatchewan Rivers and Prince Albert Catholic school divisions
  • Tri-West Teachers' Association - All schools in Living Sky and Light of Christ Catholic school divisions and Sakewew High School (North Battleford)

The job action comes as the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation and the provincial government remain in an impasse on a new collective agreement.
