In what was a truly historic moment, the Notorious City reclaimed the title of home to the World's Tallest Moose Statue in October as Mac the Moose's new antlers were officially unveiled to the public and the world.

Participants of the months-long project said reclaiming the title was truly a community effort, as countless hours of volunteer work went into designing, building and installing Mac's new rack, and the supplies were all paid for entirely by donations.

Over several months, 'Team Mac,' including Brysen Bert of Steady Metalworks, Rion White at Orion Taxidermy, Frank Bell of Cork King and Brent Evans of Evan's Excavating Inc, worked together to design and build a new antler rack for Mac, thanks to a $25,000 donation from Moosehead Breweries.

Jackie L'Heureux-Mason is the executive director of Tourism Moose Jaw, and said it was an honour to be part of the historic moment.

"I had the true honour of being a part of team Mac," said L'Heureux-Mason. "We take care of Mac like he's our own, to bring him back like this is... the only thing I can say is that I feel like a proud mom."

Mayor Fraser Tolmie also commented on the event, stating how important it was for Moose Jaw.

"I am very proud. We feel like we've not only restored the pride of Moose Jaw but also the pride of Canada. It's a day of celebration."

Since January, the Moose War between Moose Jaw and Norway provided entertainment to people all over the world, as dozens of media outlets picked up and played up the story as it unfolded.

Brysen Bert of Steady Metal Works, who played a major designing role and built the frame for the antlers, said it was great to see the community come together.

"It's more than just giving mac a new set of antlers or getting his title back, it's about bringing the community together and making something like this happen. The whole thing was totally funded by local businesses, and seeing so many people come together to get him his title back is pretty awesome."
