One woman is still behind bars for another seven weeks as she received her sentence in Moose Jaw Provincial Court Monday. 

24-year-old Menyll Ochuschayoo of Meadow Lake was charged with Assault with a weapon, Flight from Police X2, Possess stolen property over $5000, Possess stolen property under $5000 after an incident back at the end of November.

 According to the RCMP, an officer with the Craik detachment was almost hit by a vehicle during a traffic stop on Highway 11 near Girvin going an estimated 130km/h back on November 25th, 2018. The officer attempted to pull the driver over but was unsuccessful. A little while later, RCMP with another detachment spotted the vehicle traveling near Findlater during the incident officers deployed a spike belt near Lumsden, which blew three of the suspect's tires and the vehicle eventually came to a stop.

Ochuschayoo and 23-year old Shanee Axelson of Regina were both charged as a result of the incident. 

On Monday the Judge ruled that Ochuschayoo be sentenced to 120 days in jail, but would only spend another 54 behind bars due to time served. 

Axelson's case was moved to the Regina Provincial Court as she had various files ongoing there.
