Well, it looks like it might be a White Christmas after all.

A brisk Montana Low will be bringing heavy snowfall and high winds to southern Saskatchewan beginning tonight and lasting all day Tuesday, Dec 21.

Environment Canada meteorologist Terri Lang describes the passage of the storm.

"The main band of the snow, the heaviest band, looks like it will fall along the #1 Highway. So, for much of southern Saskatchewan, it's looking like it's in the 10 - 15 cm range but it certainly could be higher along that #1 corridor."

The forecast for the Moose Jaw area predicts as much as 20 cm. However, Lang says measuring the total snowfall may be difficult due to how strong the winds will be.

"We're looking at 30 to 40 kph, gusting to 50 or 60. Maybe even higher than that, so really causing some issues with blowing and drifting snow along with the snow that is falling. Tuesday is going to be quite the stormy day."

The storm is hitting British Columbia as we speak and will be moving into the Prairies tonight.
