While the weather warnings may have been lifted, we're now stuck dealing with the aftermath of Monday's winter storm.

Highways surrounding Moose Jaw have all begun to open up, but still have some slippery or snow-covered sections. The highway in the area still closed is Highway 1 in the Chaplin area. Travel is not recommended though north on Highway 2 toward Chamberlain.

Locally, roads are 'OK' at best. Although city sand trucks are currently out, many roads are still ice-covered and pretty slick. If you have to head out, drive slow and take your time.

Several communities in southern and west-central Saskatchewan were left without power overnight as SaskPower dealt with a surge of outages resulting from the storm.

According to SaskPower, parts of Assiniboia, Gravelbourg, Shaunavon, Maple Creek, and a number of other communities were without power overnight. SaskPower was unable to work on the issues in the evening and overnight due to unsafe work conditions. You can check their website or Twitter for an up-to-date estimate time of repairs.

As of 8:30 p.m. on Monday, SaskPower was dealing with 130 outages, leaving 14,500 customers without power.

The good news though is that we're approaching a warm stretch where we should see temperatures rise above 15 to end the week.
