Is it the return of the dreaded Polar Vortex?  Maybe, but what we do know is that things are going to be very cold for the next couple days.

After a weekend that saw wide spread melting Friday and Saturday, Sunday started a turn for the worse and now we're facing a windchill down near -45 to start the new week. A windchill warning has been issued as a result and while the wind might not be all that strong, we're cold enough that even a slight breeze is going to have a serious effect.

Highways are said to be in much better condition after many were closed due to blowing snow on Sunday. It's the ice that you'll need to be aware of now after the melting on Friday and Saturday. Some local roads are in terrible condition as some streets and intersections were under water on Saturday in Moose Jaw.

The freezing on Sunday has resulted in some areas that are covered in more than an inch of ice.

Four Prairie South buses are not running this morning due to the cold; Lindale #11–Lee Stearns, Lindale #22–Suzanne Ramage, Rouleau #1–Marsha Watamanuk (Belva Perkin), and Rouleau #2–Bob Paradis.
