Saskatchewan is used to being blasted by wind but Tuesday was anything but a typical wind storm. Gusts here in Moose Jaw touched 90km per hour at the worst which is one of the strongest gusts recorded during the day according to Environment Canada.

Around the city, there doesn't appear to be any major damage being reported just yet but out at Buffalo Pound, ice fishing shacks took a beating.  Some were sent for a tumble or were free wheeling as the winds barrelled down the lake.

Now that the worst of the wind is gone, we're planted firmly in a deep freeze with daytime highs 10 degrees below normal for at least the next week and even the slightest wind will make it feel closer to the -30s.
