The winter conditions have not only increased the number of colds and flus going around, but also the number of people getting hurt.

Various hospitals throughout the province have seen an influx in patients since the cold weather arrived throughout this past week.

Certain areas in the province received more rain on Tuesday during the day than all of the summer months combined, which froze overnight and created potential hazards.

Due to slippery sidewalks and parking lots there have been a number of falls and injuries reported. Some surgeries were even pushed back to make room for those who had fallen and needed immediate attention.

However, that's not the case here in Moose Jaw at our Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital; according to officials it's "business as usual" and the number of patients seeking care has been steady.
