The average weekly earnings in Saskatchewan in the month of December were up 4.7 percent, year over year, to just under $1,100. The numbers from Statistics Canada showed the average weekly wage was $1,096.16. 

The highest paying industry in Saskatchewan, with overtime factored in, was the mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction sector. The average weekly earnings for that industry were $1.969.77. The lowest weekly earnings were in accommodation and food services, where the average weekly earnings were $419.15. 

The average weekly earnings for those on salary was $1,430.80 (including overtime) and $1,420.06 (excluding overtime). Those who are paid hourly had an average weekly earnings, overtime included, of $867.89, and $822.63 when not factoring in overtime. 

The monthly report from Statistics Canada also included the average number of hours worked in a week in the province, as well as job vacancies.  

In Saskatchewan, the average number of hours worked in a week was 36.6. There were 9,645 job vacancies in Saskatchewan across all sectors, with 448,330 payroll employees in the province.
