Chilly. Cold. Frigid. It doesn't matter what you call it, the weather over Saskatchewan right now is not pleasant.  We're still under an extreme cold warning as forecasters expect -40 degrees with the wind chill for the next several days.

The coldest conditions of the year are coming at the end of the year and will potentially start the new year as well according to Environment Canada Meteorologist Mike McDonald.

"This cold air stretches from eastern British Columbia all the way into central Quebec so generally , two thirds of the country is under this frigid arctic air mass and it's not really going anywhere fast."

The earliest break in the weather is expected to be Monday but we'll still struggle to break -20 degrees for the daytime high when we would normally see -8 degrees.
