The Moose Jaw Western Development Museum hosted its second volunteer fair on October 26th.

Karla Rasmussen, education and public programs coordinator for the Moose Jaw WDM said the fair is a great chance to come out and get a good idea of what kind of services are needed in the community.

"We've got a handful of different organizations from Moose Jaw coming up to tell the public about how they can get involved in their community. They're looking for an extra set of hands to do their events or to run their organization, that sort of thing. So there'll be lots of different things to pick up, talk to people, network with other people."

Rasmussen added that even if you're not looking for a long term volunteer opportunity, it could be something to try short term to learn a new skill for free.

"Think in the future, you might want some different skills on your resume, volunteering is a great way to do that."

The volunteer fair runs Saturday, Oct. 26 from 1-4 pm.
