Becoming the third candidate for the position of Moose Jaw Mayor is Wayne Watermanuk.
He's born and raised in Moose jaw and currently works as a Limo and shuttle driver for his family business that he's been a part of for over 20 years.
"I am honest and hardworking and would like to see the city continue to grow and prosper. I want to make a difference and think the best way to make a difference is to be a part of the city," is quoted on his candidate profile on moosejaw.ca.
He told Discover Moose Jaw in an Interview that his neighbors inspired him to run for the position.
Watermanuk has a heavy focus on on construction and repair of the roads, intersections, and bridges in Moose Jaw.
He also plans to install more stop signs and other road signage throughout the city.
In his interview, he explains that the roads could use more clarity and safer instruction.
Watermanuk is also passionate about bring a second Sarcan to moose Jaw to help decrease the wait times.
He's aware that this falls under federal jurisdiction but he wants to try and find a way to work with the federal government on the matter.
Not only that, he plans extend the weekly garbage pick up from May to October.
Making spring and fall clean easier for Moose Jaw residents.
He also wants to try and encourage some more local businesses such as specialty shops to come into the city.
Watermanuk says that he will be the Mayor that is apart of the people, "Just to see somebody get in who is your average joe. Just your average citizen. (Who's) not really well know and hey maybe this person can make a difference."
