The City of Moose Jaw is starting a new water main flushing program this week. The program should take around four weeks to complete with crews spending about a week in each of the flushing zones.

This is the first time the city has executed the flushing program of this nature according to Public Works Supervisor for Water and Waste Water, Staci Dobrescu.

"We've brought in a specialist that can assist is with the cleaning of the water mains and the purpose for cleaning the water mains is to maintain our water quality."

Water should not be affected for long in areas being flushed, but some discolouration may occur due to the sediment moving around. Click here to see a map of the areas.
