Residents of Pense looked on as the last remaining grain elevator in the small town was demolished on Monday, May 3.

The elevator was owned by Viterra and has been closed since 2001, serving as extra storage up until last year.

Back in January of 2021, heavy winds of up to 100 km/hour damaged the elevator and it was deemed not worth the repairs.

Previously Pense boasted of six local elevators but time has taken its toll on the structures.
