The Dr. F. H. Wigmore Hospital along with all hospitals that include acute care in the province have put restrictions in place for visitations and family presence.

Affective Friday, the hospital is moving to Level 1 Family Presence restrictions due to the rising number of COVID-19 transmissions and high capacities in hospitals across the province.

At the Level 1 stage of Family Presence, patients can designate 2 essential family/support members but only one person can be present while inside the facility.

Both persons can be present at once in the areas of intensive care, maternal, postpartum and pediatric units, and end-of-life or palliative care.

More than 2 family/support members can be designated for a patient in the intensive care unit as well as the end-of-life and palliative care.

There are no restrictions on how many people can be present while outdoors.

Screenings upon entry and mandatory masking are still in effect within all acute care facilities.
